UTS Architecture Wins at RAIA Awards
The annual RAIA Student Awards were held 14 May and from the three design awards open to all other NSW architecture schools, UTS took home two.

For the second year in a row, a graduating UTS architecture student won the NSW State Chapter Design Medal.
Linda Matthews, was awarded this year's medal, for her project which consisted of innovative karaoke/sushi bar wedged into the Circular Quay precinct using the 'virtual' urban view available from CCTV systems.
Timmy Lum received the The RAIA Mirvac Design Award for his design for a new Town Hall. This award recognizes excellence in architectural design to students who have respectively completed and are midway through their architectural studies.

Dr Naomi Stead was also awarded in July, the Adrian Ashton Prize for Architectural Journalism, by the NSW chapter of the Australian Institute of Architects.
She won the prize fort her series of three articles: The jury citationOpening the City, Architecture Australia Vol.96 No.1, 2007

Stead’s articles presenting three diverse Sydney topics, were praised by the jury for their “obvious enthusiasm for, architectural debate and commentary within the profession, an altruism central to sustaining a culture of design in NSW. “
